Focus Areas

U.S. National Security

Today, whether in traditional military operations (Operation IRAQI FREEDOM or Operation ENDURING FREEDOM) or Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW) (Haiti, Somalia, Bosnia), military forces must be able to discriminate between belligerents and non-hostile civilians, to modulate the effects of weapons against personnel, and limit destruction to life, property and the environment.

Tactical Mobility Protection

M2 Technologies, Inc. (M2) has established a Tactictal Mobility Consortium (TMC) to assess, analyze and develop emerging tactical mobility technology capabilities, with emphasis on neutralizing threats to land systems via a variety of technologies. Tactical mobility technologies can effectively counter both traditional and non-traditional threats with a minimal loss of life and collateral damage, allowing the warfighter to safely complete missions.

Sensor Technology

Sensors are used in a variety of urban warfare technologies. Persistent surveillance technologies allow troops to detect hostile fire in real-time and provide situational awareness to the warfighter in support of friendly elements.

Environmental Assessments

In partnership with the Non-lethal Environmental Evaluations and Remediation Center (NEER), M2 coordinates environmental assessment efforts. The team conducts basic, applied, and operational research and activities, including life-cycle environmental evaluations and remediation analyses. The team provides specialized support to programs and projects progressing through the DoD acquisitions and development cycle. Environmental Knowledge Assessment Tool (EKAT) is a web-based tool used to support environmental assessment efforts and for screening weapon system technologies to identify environmental effects.

Homeland Security and Defense

Currently, M2 and its academic, industry, and governmental partners are working to rapidly explore and develop emerging technologies that have military, civil law enforcement, and homeland defense applications,e.g. the defeat of the Improvised Explosive Device.
