Chief Financial Officer (CFO)



M2 Technologies, Inc., a woman owned small business, is currently in search of a Chief Financial Officer to work out of our Stafford, VA office.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report to the CEO, COO, and Executive Vice President (EVP). The CFO will define the process and implement the infrastructure and systems needed to support substantial growth over the next 5 to 10 years. S/he will continue to build and manage effective and streamlined administrative and financial systems, including financial, accounting, legally acceptable accounting practices, human resources (HR), and physical infrastructure. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the CFO will be involved in strategic planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives, as well as strategic planning for a woman owned small business.


Place of Performance: Stafford, VA

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management
  • Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and proposed new sites
  • Manage one full-time accounting administrator; hire and retain support staff as needed
  • Coordinate and oversee all audit activities
Administrative Leadership and Management
  • Serve as a business partner to the EVP on the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes— including HR, payroll, and benefits functions—with an eye to continuously developing and improving financial, administrative and management systems
  • Manage the organization’s physical infrastructure, physical plant, and system maintenance (phone system, security, cleaning, supplies, etc.), with assistance from designated staff
Program Recipient Mentoring
  • Develop successful and trusting relationships with the program sponsors and create and sustain an environment that supports these relationships
  • Support the development of Mentor-Protégé Relationships
QUALIFICATIONS

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will have at least five to eight years of professional corporate financial experience at a leadership level, including managing the finance and administration of a high-growth $10 million to $20 million Department of Defense (DoD) contractor/company ( DoD experience is mandatory). S/he will have a proven track record of winning Business Development strategies and DOD proposal development, and experience creating and driving the analytic framework for planning and managing organizational change in a highly entrepreneurial organization. The CFO should display enthusiasm for growing a small business, develop a realistic plan for getting the company to the next level and maturing its financial posture.


The CFO will have the following education, experience and attributes:
  • Bachelor’s degree, an MBA and a CPA
  • Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting in compliance with DOD (DCAA) requirements
  • Experience should include legal compliance with DOD guidelines, audit, compliance with best business practices, budget, and resource development
  • Understanding of DCAA requirements and experience with DCAA audits (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing innovative ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems
  • Proven effectiveness in supporting professionals understanding of finance and accounting
  • Technologically savvy, with an ability to point to examples of having worked with IT to develop and implement new processes and systems that increased efficiency in a fast-moving environment
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented in a fast paced business environment; a proven manager, able to make difficult decisions and work cohesively and firmly with senior managers
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the company’s mission and the company’s growth future are required
